LAND OF OPPORTUNITY

This union of 50 states, some as large and diverse as many independent countries, stretches its lower 48 between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans of North America bordered by Canada to the north and Mexico to the south; Alaska reaches into the Arctic Circle at the continent’s most northwest extremity between Russia and Canada; Hawaii stretches an archipelago of more than 20 volcanic islands in the middle of the Pacific Ocean 2000 miles from the mainland. The United States also includes five US territories in the Caribbean and the South Pacific. Each state and territory boasts its own history, culture, architectural styles, cuisine, climate, and landscape.
