Similar to commissioning a piece of architecture or artwork, journeys are custom‑designed and produced to order for each client. The design fee compensates for the research, structure, and intellectual work involved in shaping a journey from concept through implementation.
Each journey begins with structured discovery and develops through research, regional analysis, and collaboration with trusted in‑destination partners. The focus is practical and intentional: where you go, why you go there, how long you stay, and how each place connects to the next.

The Role of Journey Design
Journey Design is the framework behind every Curated Journey.
Whether planning travel for an individual or couple, a multi‑generational family, or a professional immersion for chefs, architects, or creative leaders, the methodology remains consistent:

Scope of the Engagement
Each engagement is defined by written proposal following the discovery consultation. Rather than functioning as a separate phase from the process outlined below, scope clarifies the boundaries and deliverables of the design work.
In practical terms, the engagement includes:
- Development of a written Journey Design Brief
- Strategic route and pacing design
- Accommodation and experience recommendations
- Dining and cultural guidance
- Transportation and transition strategy
- Coordination framework with in‑destination partners
- A comprehensive Curated Journey Document
- Two structured refinement rounds
The scope establishes what is being designed, the level of depth involved, and the timeline for completion. Any services beyond the agreed framework are defined and approved in writing before additional work begins.

The Process
The Journey Design engagement unfolds through three primary phases. The website summarizes the structure below; the detailed client journey is provided after initial alignment.
Phase I — Discovery & Direction
The process begins with a complimentary 15‑minute Alignment Call to determine mutual fit, scope, and timing. If aligned, a paid Discovery Consultation (60–90 minutes) is scheduled.
This working session explores travel history, aspirations, desired pace, cultural interests, and potential regions. The outcome is a Journey Design Brief, which establishes the strategic direction of the journey.
Phase II — Journey Architecture
Following the Discovery Consultation, a Journey Design Proposal outlines scope, timeline, and design investment. Once the proposal is approved, the Journey Design Agreement is signed and the engagement is formally commissioned.
In‑depth research begins, informed by regional context and collaboration with trusted partners and cultural experts. Destinations, accommodations, experiences, and transitions between places are thoughtfully structured into a cohesive journey framework.
The proposed journey is then reviewed together and refined collaboratively before moving to implementation.
Phase III — Implementation Through Local Partnership
Once the design is approved, implementation is coordinated with trusted on‑site partners recommended through Virtuoso — AMG Inspired’s affiliated global consortium specializing in luxury and experiential travel.
These partners manage reservations, confirmations, logistics, and in‑destination support while AMG Inspired maintains strategic oversight of the overall journey design.
Prior to departure, travelers receive detailed itinerary documentation and contextual insights. During travel, AMG Inspired remains available to coordinate with partners if support is required.

Investment
Journey Design is a professional planning service separate from travel costs.
Design investment reflects the time required for research, coordination, partner collaboration, and refinement.
- Regional journeys begin at $2,000
- Multi‑region international journeys begin at $3,500
- Complex, multi‑country, or multi‑party journeys are quoted individually
Following the discovery consultation, a written proposal outlining scope, timeline, and design fee is provided.
All travel services — accommodations, guides, transportation, and activities — are quoted separately by in‑destination partners.

AMG Inspired provides Journey Design services only and is not the direct supplier of travel services.
Accommodation providers, guides, transportation companies, and other travel components are contracted through in‑destination partners. Those partners are responsible for pricing, reservations, confirmations, fulfillment, and traveler support.
AMG Inspired may receive compensation from certain travel partners for bookings made through those partners. Such compensation does not replace or reduce the professional design fee outlined in the engagement agreement.
Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended for all trips.

The first step is a complimentary 15‑minute Alignment Call to explore your ideas, timing, and whether the Studio is the right creative partner for your journey. This initial conversation ensures mutual fit and clarifies the potential scope of work.
If aligned, a paid Discovery Consultation (60–90 minutes) is scheduled. This strategic working session establishes the foundation of the journey and is credited toward the Journey Design engagement should you choose to proceed.
Formal Journey Design work begins once the Journey Design Agreement is signed and the design fee is received. From there, the journey moves into the research, design, and implementation phases outlined above.
