Efficiency is combined with luxury.

A high level of planning combined with well-thought details elevates the design. Traditional detailing and fine custom cabinets complement the existing architecture. Quality craftsmanship and details lend a level of timeless sophistication to the heart of this home.

Proper lighting is essential. General ambient and task lights combine with feature fixtures and accent lighting to provide well-placed function, create focal interest, and highlight materials and texture.

Contrast and texture are key elements. The cast stone vent hood over the professional-quality range and mosaic backsplash creates a focal point to the room. Along with the hood, stone floor inlays and varied dark wood cabinets lend an Old World sophistication. Planar changes and varied heights of wall cabinets create visual interest.

The adjacent family room is refinished to seamlessly connect with the new kitchen.

DETAILS

Attention to detail makes a design successful. First, it’s about listening to the client and developing their style. Then, time is devoted to creating space efficiency, layering color, texture and dimension, and finally, maintaining quality control in the materials and construction.
Hood Details
Through natural stone artistry, a masterful centerpiece is created for the room.
Cabinet Details
Elements of the existing architecture are carried into the new custom cabinets. Fluted corner pieces accent the warm tone of the glazed perimeter cabinetry. Perfection is achieved fully integrated granite counter details.
The jewel of the kitchen is accentuated with its dark espresso finish and surrounding mosaic border. Unique yet, complementary details are created for this extraordinary masterpiece.
Design elements are echoed in the rope detailing of the hood, crown and drawer pulls to promote continuity throughout the space. Textured glass obscures display cabinets and provides a textural affect.
Professional quality appliances are integrated into the cabinetry. The ultimate in performance and capacity is accomplished for this multi-chef kitchen.
Proper lighting is essential. The artisan pendant fixtures are not only beautiful compliments to the palette, but provide elegant task lighting. The under-cabinet puck lights supply full integration into the finished underside of the cabinets while accentuating the details in the granite.
Beauty is combined with well-thought components throughout the space. The pullout sliding shelves and laptop charging shelf provide storage convenience and ingenuity.

Before and After Photos

By removing an inefficient corner pantry and slightly expanding the original size of this kitchen, the client gained a more efficient use of work space, usable storage, larger appliances and better traffic flow.
Although the original plumbing locations are maintained, relocating the cooking area allows the development of a focal point. A greater connection to the views is gained by removing the existing garden window and adjusting the placement of the new fixed pane window.
The removal of the obtrusive corner pantry allows the addition of a circulation path and an integration of the cabinetry into the adjacent family room. The two rooms become interconnected with finishes and details that will endure time.
